Corona Travel

I am sandeep kumar mishra.Odisha, jagatsinghapur.

I have my job in Cognizant technology solution, at kolkata. 

In the time of pandemic on june 15th I had to start for kolkata from odisha. 

I booked my ticket, my flight ticket on 13th june, 2020.

Tge corona was spreading rapidly among people. And meanwhile I decided to be exposed to corona. 

It was noway different from going to a war with corona. 

I had my mask and sanitizer and a face shield with me. 

I booked a ticket on air india. 

As oer instruction, before reaching airport I had to complete my webcheckin and then tely checkin and I after that I supposed to have the boarding pass in my gmail. 

Another form was to be field of about one's health diclaration form. Where one have to declare that he is not from a containment zone.. And he has not exposed to corona virus and had no symptoms of corona and blah blah blah. 

I completed the health chekin declaration form and had a printout. 

I also had a printout of the ticket which I had booked in a mobile app "Happy Easy Go". 

Then I tried web checkin and tely checkin, it didn't work I was worry and I asked a lot of people about the same. But noone had experience why it was not working in tge pandemic. All suggested me to do the check in in airport it self. 

Next day on 13th june, 2020 , i reaches airport two hours erlier in Bijupattnaik biman bandar, bhubaneswar. 

In outside the airport the couters of Airindia, Vistara, Indigo were there. I went to the Airindia counter and found noone. 

Then I waited there. Other people also weee waiting. They were also facing problem in web checkin and tely check in. 

Then staff came over there. Then they gave ma a health declaration form to fill up and asked me to go inside airport. 

When I went inside airport at the entry gate the guards stopped me and asked me where is the boarding pass. I told I didn't have. They told me that go and collect the boarding pass from the same counter I had already visited otherwise they will not alliw me inside airport. 

Meanwhile a person hd already sanitized my bag. 

I again went to that counter and ask for boarding pass. Then he asked me for my PRN. 

My PRN was written in my ticket. I told him the same. 

Then after 5 minutes they gave me the boarding pass. 

{Actually boarding pass is collected inside the airport from a machine. Due to corona pandemic, touching to that machine was risky. So the employee were taking the prn individually and printing the boarding pass by themselves and then giving us after taking the boarding pass from the machine.} 

Then with the boarding pass I went inside the airport. They checked my "Arogya setu app". 

My arogya setu app was showing green color and it was written that "I am safe". 

By verifying this, they allow me to go inside the airport. 

{If your arogya setu app is not showing green, that means you are not alliwed to travel through the plane} 

Then I went to the baggage counter. Acording to the rule you have two types of baggage. 

1. Hand bag (7kg)

2 check-in bag (15kg or 25kg)

You will carry the hand bag with you and the checkin bag will be carried by the plane on their responsibility. 

I went to the baggage counter. I gave them the check-in bag. They weighted the bag and then they took that bag from me. 

There is a huge space in the plane to put all these bags... So it's not my headache to take care of that checkin bag. 

Now I have only hand bag. 

In the next check post, I put all the electronics materials along with my belt  from my hand bag on a tray. They all are being scanned. 

Then the scanned me also as I might carry something weird. 

Then I went to gate no 2 for kolkata flight. 

After 5 minutes of actual departure time the plane arrived.

Then we are given a kit which contain 2 face masks, a sanitizer and a face shield.

Then thermal screening is conducted.

Then we submitted the health declaration form which was collected and filled up by me initially from the airindia counter.

Then a bus took us to the aeroplane. While sitting in the bus or standing we were maintaining social distance.

Then we entered inside the flight.It was a small flight.

It was not a non-stop flight rather it is a one-stop flight.

Bhubaneswar -------Jharsuguda -----------------Kolkata

When the flight took  off  it was at first a scarry experience for me.Suddenly the flight started speeding up and started going up in the air.But eventually I got familiar with.Then we reach jharsuguda and they gave us water bottle.Launch was not provided due to corona pandemic.

Then I reached kolkata international airport.

There when we get out from the flight a bus picked us up and drop us in a gate and when we went inside there were electronic belts were moving.there were 8 to 10  belts.Two of them were moving.The belts are just carry your check in bags .

I waited there but no bag I found.Then I went to another belt and finally I got my check-in bag in that belt.

Then finally I exited from airport and booked Ola cab and reached at kolkata,new town , West Bengal ,700156.

Lots of factors were there I had to taken care of.I tried my best not to touch any thing any where.If so , I immediately sanitized my hands.

After reaching at my pg I remove my cloths carefully without touching my face till then.Then I took a deep bath and then After I washed my face.

Then all the things I had put aside.I left all my bag untouched for 3 days.Then I put them in sun light or then after that I started using those.

It was a risky journey.Still a good experience in my first flight in a good time.
